Minutes for Mater Dei Council No. 8059 Regular Meeting
Wednesday, September 10, 2008

Meeting was called to order by the Grand Knight at 7:03 p.m.

Role Call of Officers: Bill, Michael M., Fr. John (excused), Rudy, Larry, Kyle, Norm, Mike H. (absent), Robert (Absent), Darwin

Applications: None

Grand Knight’s Report: Congrats to the Mead and McGuire families for their new babies!

Treasurer's Report: Larry updated members as to the council's finances. Larry also noted that our recent raffle was successful.

Financial Secretary's Report:

• Rudy is transferring to Most Pure Heart and will be missed. Due to Rudy's departure, we will need a new chancellor.
• Thomas Garret was awarded honorary membership.
• Jack Nork and Medford Shively both received honorary life memberships.

Youth Director's Report: Kyle noted that he has received program packets and will be coordinating a Soccer Challenge in the very near future.

Chaplain’s Report: Skipped

Reading of Communications: Received call from Nancy West, chair of Altar Guild concerning breakfast for June. Council decided to decline to offer.

No reports were provided for the following categories:

Trustees Report, Services Program, Membership Program, Program Director, Family Director, Church Director, Community Director, Standing Committees, and Insurance.

Old Business: Nick shared with council members turn out for the Server appreciation at Blaisdell Pool with ideas for future Server appreciation events.

New Business:

• Trivia Night is this week
• Parish Picnic (Bill will arrive at 10:30 for setup and would like to have food ready by 11:30)
• Tootsie Roll Drive is scheduled for Oct. 10, 11, and 12. Nick and Michael will co-chair the drive. Sites for the drive will be discussed at a meeting on Sept 18th.
• Start thinking about volunteering hours at the Parish Bazaar first weekend of November.
• Religious Ed Tickets
• Members discussed meeting in the basement of Assumption
• Discussion of Social Meetings

4th Degree Report:

• Dinner for Color Corp on October 5th - call Frank Davis
• Christmas dinner on December 13th - call Dick Walsh
• If you have borrowed regalia for the Color Corp let Jose know.

Field Agent's Report: call Doug Martinek to learn more about Insurance Policy changes

District Deputy's Report: Jose informed members on several points concerning business-related matters. Noteworthy of his report was the awarding of Certificates for the Tootsie Roll Program and Pennies from Heaven.

For Good of the Order: Keep Merlin and Merlin's wife in prayers for upcoming surgeries.
