Meeting was called to order by the Grand Knight at 7:02 p.m.

The minutes from the July 2007 meeting was read and adopted with changes.

Applications: Robert Ortiz, Jr., Robert Ortiz, III; and Mr. Bracken from California

Grand Knight’s Report:

• This weekend between 8:30 – 11 a.m. we will host coffee, juice, and doughnuts in the cafeteria at Holy Name elementary school
• Will have marriage encounter presentation
• Recommend food to purchase: 5 dozen glazed; 7 dozen variety; gallon of juice and gallon of milk
• Celebration of family week
• Letter of bulletin read at last meeting will be in bulletin this weekend. Will run again in mid September.
• Meetings will stay scheduled for the second Wednesday of the month

Chaplain’s Report: None

Financial Secretary Report: everything up to date; everything due has been submitted

Youth Director’s Report: Kyle has received youth program kits.

Unfinished Business:

· Bella Movie? – Chapter function

· Locaction for future meetings – Fr. Chantos’ room – everyone seems comfortable

New Business:

· Cookout – doing three? Coffee, juice, doughnuts

· Idea – 5 a.m., Fri – Sun (commit to two of the three days), Nascar (Late April, Late September)

· Fund raising opportunities: raffles before (done Herman’s meat and cash back) bazaar, which is in October – Kyle moved that we hold a raffle from now until our next meeting (Sept. 12^th) – will need to receive info – single page raffle drawing (ticket for $1 or 6 for $5)

· Pancake feeds – wait until it gets a bit colder – maybe Oct., Nov., Jan, Feb., Mar., Apr.; Heartland Electric – Dave Gigous

· Tootsie Roll Drive is coming up – October 12/13/14; orders are due August, 31^st.

· Start thinking about doing independently or with another group for advent (advent Christmas – brunch type of b-fast, fruit salad, danishes, group ordered bunch of crafts, move from station to station) – half of cafeteria was full, elderly, young families.

4^th Degree Report: Newsletters – change of address (Dick Walsh); Donations to the VA bldg 24 will take old magazines within 6 months old, will take clothing, August 26^th will be Washburn Chapel dedication, 4^th degree xmas dinner will be Saturday?, Nov. 7 – 9 will be marriage encounter NE Kansas – Olathe; October 14^th, 2^nd/3^rd degree Our Lady of Guadelupe; 6:45 practice at 6:45; Fr. Harry recovering from knee surgery; Living Rosary in May at Royals Stadium – KS vs. MO – color guard.

District Deputy’s Report: Tootsie order due at end of month; family week 11 – 19^th this week; 9/23, 9/30 are other degrees; chapter meeting tomorrow night; golf tournament got cancelled
